Wu Xing practices are aimed at helping bring our body’s internal environment into a state of harmony. Through continued practice, they regulate imbalances associated with the five elemental energies, and restore health to our energetic system. These practices can help to create balance in our minds and in our lives.
During this course, Kulsoom & Avinash taught a combination of practices designed to help open the body, build qi, and regulate qi through the Wu Xing exercises.
Nei Gong, or "internal skill," is a Chinese practice of inner cultivation with roots in Daoism and alchemical training. It's a systematic method aimed at optimizing the functioning of the "three bodies of humanity" (physical, energetic, and mental) through a step-by-step process that begins with the physical body to prepare it for energetic practices. The practice focuses on developing the lower Dan Tian, a central energy storage area, to rejuvenate the body's energy and make it vibrant and active. This development allows for the harmonious flow of Qi (energy) throughout the body.
During this course, Kulsoom and Avinash focused on helping students open and connect the body through the Ji Ben Gong set, developing the dantian with dantian gong, building qi and work with the breath using a mixture of standing and seated practices.
